Lip Augmentation

Surgical lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that involves making incisions in or around the lips to modify the shape of the lips. This method is different from non-surgical lip augmentation techniques, such as dermal fillers, which do not involve surgery.

Lip lift

A lip lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that aims to enhance the appearance of the lips by shortening the distance between the nose and the upper lip. As we age the white lip tends to lengthen and the red lip begins to diminish. The procedure involves removing a small strip of skin from the area above the upper lip, which can make the upper red lip appear fuller, more pronounced, and more youthful.

The lip lift procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia, and the incision is made along the base of the nose to minimize visible scarring. The surgeon then removes a small amount of skin and lifts the upper lip, bringing it closer to the nose. The incision is then closed using sutures.

Corner Lip Lift

A corner lip lift is a surgical procedure that targets the outer corners of the mouth to enhance the appearance of the lips. It is also known as a smile lift or a corner of mouth lift. The procedure is designed to lift and tighten the corners of the mouth, which can sag or droop due to aging, genetics, or other factors.

During a corner lip lift procedure, small incisions are made at the corners of the mouth. The surgeon then removes a small amount of tissue and tightens the muscles and skin around the corner of the mouth, creating a more lifted and youthful appearance. The incisions are then closed with sutures.

Lip Reduction

Lip reduction is a cosmetic surgical procedure that aims to reduce the size or volume of the lips. This procedure is typically performed on individuals who feel that their lips are too large or disproportionate to the rest of their facial features.

During a lip reduction procedure, the surgeon makes small incisions in the lips and removes excess tissue and fat to achieve the desired size and shape. The incisions are then closed with sutures.

Surgical lip augmentation requires anesthesia and a longer recovery time compared to non-surgical methods. Surgical lip augmentation procedures can be performed alone or in combination with other lip augmentation techniques, such as fillers to achieve the desired results. The procedure can also be customized to suit the patient's preferences and facial structure.

The recovery time for surgical lip augmentation is typically around one to two weeks. Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are common after the procedure, but these symptoms usually subside within a few days.

Benefits

  • Enhanced lip volume: The primary benefit of surgical lip augmentation is an increase in the volume of the lips. This can help create a more youthful and attractive appearance.

  • Symmetry: Lip augmentation can also improve lip symmetry, correcting any imbalances or irregularities in the shape of the lips.

  • Long-lasting results: Unlike some non-surgical lip augmentation techniques, surgical lip augmentation can provide long-lasting results.

  • Customization: Surgical lip augmentation can be customized to suit the patient's individual preferences and facial structure. The surgeon can tailor the procedure to achieve the desired level of lip enhancement while maintaining a natural-looking result.

  • Boosted self-confidence: Many people who undergo surgical lip augmentation report feeling more confident and satisfied with their appearance, which can improve their quality of life.
