Blepharoplasty

(Eyelid Surgery)

Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, is a cosmetic procedure that can help improve the appearance of the upper and lower eyelids by removing excess skin, fat, and muscle. This procedure can help address sagging, drooping, or puffy eyelids that worsens overtime with excess skin laxity and herniation of the sling that holds in the fat that cushions around our eyes. This loss of elasticity often makes a person look tired or aged.  At our clinic, we offer blepharoplasty procedures that are tailored to your individual needs and goals. Our experienced and highly skilled surgeons use the latest techniques and technology to ensure a safe and effective procedure, with minimal scarring and downtime.

During your consultation, our surgeons will evaluate your eyelids and discuss your concerns and goals for the procedure. They will then recommend the best approach to achieve the desired results. Depending on your needs, they may recommend upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or a combination of both.

The procedure itself can be performed under local anesthesia or IV sedcation and can take anywhere from one to three hours, depending on the extent of the surgery.

Blepharoplasty is often combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as facelifts, necklifts and browlifts.

How is a Blepharoplasty done?

An Upper blepharoplasty is performed with the surgeon making a small incision along the natural crease of the upper eyelid, which helps to conceal any scarring. With this incision excess skin and fatty pads are removed to recreate a more rested appearance.

In patients without an upper eyelid crease, surgery can be done to recreate that crease to redefine the eyelid.

A Lower blepharoplasty can be performed using the transconjunctival approach (incision on the inner lower lid) or a subciliary approach (incision in the natural crease under the lash line). Depending on the degree of laxity, muscle prominence and fatty pad protrusion your surgeon will evaluate and determine the best approach to attain the most natural and beautiful results.
